“2-0!” Liverpool stormed away from Spurs, claiming their sixth European Cup. This is how most football fans think of Liverpool. Neither a fan of Liverpool Football Club, nor a football lover? No worries. Liverpool remains a timeless historical and cultural city of Britain.

Most tourists would be attracted by the World Museum Liverpool, due to its stunning design. From the planetarium, aquarium to historical museums, a city with unique charisma has much more to offer. In fact, the Industrial Revolution is the vein of this fast-changing city.

The government built the first commercial enclosed wet dock in Liverpool, facilitating the slave trade. The International Slavery Museum displays its history – Liverpool was responsible for 1.5 million slave transportations. Until the end of the 19th century, around 40% of the world trade was conducted in the Albert Dock.

“I prefer liberty with danger, to peace with slavery.” Strolling along Mann Island with the “Three Graces”, aka Royal Liver Building, the Cunard Building, and the Port of Liverpool Building. Unfortunately, UNESCO has stripped its World Heritage status, accusing of how the mixed-use development eroded its integrity.

As the capital city of pop, it is the birthplace of the legendary Beatles. The Beatles Story shows their rise to fame and ‘Beatlemania.’ If it is far from satisfactory, enjoy the live bands in the Cavern Club – birthplace of the Beatles, where they used to perform, as well as a chapel where people pay tribute to them.

You may say I'm a dreamer

But I'm not the only one

I hope someday you'll join us

And the world will be as one

— Imagine, John Lennon
