The Red Devils was founded in 1878, and it changed its name to Manchester United in 1902. As one of the Big Six, not only has it won more trophies than any others in the UK, with a record of 13 League titles and 12 FA Cups, but also the treble in the 1998-99 season.

Since their first overseas match in 1908, United have continued to dominate on the world stage. They have won every major honour available to European clubs and in 2008 became the first English team to win the FIFA Club World Cup, beating LDU Quito 1-0 to lift the trophy.

On 6th February 1958, a plane carrying the team back from their 3-3 draw against Red Star Belgrade crashed in Munich. Of the 44 crew and passengers, 23 died in the disaster, including 8 players who had just won qualification for the semi-finals of the European Cup.

News of the crash brought the entire nation to a standstill. Fortunately, after a decade of tragedy and re-building, the Red Devils became the first English side to win the competition in 1968. Via the hospitality, fans could learn more about this tragic history.

A big round of applause to Matt Busby. Severely injured in the crash and twice given the last rites, he returned from Munich to see the team in the 1958 FA Cup final. Ten years later he led his team to a famous European Cup final victory. Knighted in 1968, he retired a year later.

Old Trafford has been home of Manchester United since 1910. It was destroyed by bomb during WWII and shared Maine Road with local rivals Manchester City from 1941 to 1949. With a capacity of 80,000 football fans, the stadium is the second largest in the UK.

The stadium underwent several expansions in the 1990s and 2000s, including the addition of extra tiers to the North, West and East Stands, almost returning the stadium to its original capacity. The larger the expansion, the better “the Theater of Dreams” perhaps.

Besides the birthplace of the Reds, it is the third largest city in the UK. A walk from Albert Square leads us to the Castlefield Urban Heritage Park. When the Roman Empire conquered Britain in 79 A.D., they built both the castle and barns, which were protected by the Rivers Irwell and Medlock.

If you are looking for a modern experience, Arndale provides you with 200+ stylish stores to explore your favorite brands. You can also grab a beer in a bar and cheer for the Red Devils all night long. It is not as blue as Lee Chandler depicted in Manchester by the Sea.

Lastly, Manchester is not only a vibrant place for a city break, but it has also been considered as the first industrial city in the world. The growth of the cotton industry facilitated its global network of manufacturing and trade. The extraordinary history has been housed in a museum.

Opened in 1983, the Science and Industry Museum was on the site of the world’s first passenger railway station, from Liverpool to Manchester. It consists of 5 railway warehouses during the Industrial Revolution. Dive into the city’s history by visiting this unique museum.

From the 1830 Warehouse, Station Building, Power Hall, Main Building, to the Air and Space Hall. Visitors can trace back its development. Besides Red Devils, the city is a birthplace for another “Manchester Baby”, the first electronic stored-program computer. Greetings to him.
