Settlement in Göreme occurred in 1800 B.C. Green Tour connected us to the fairy chimneys in the Göreme Panorama. Volcanic eruptions emerged and ash solidified into soft rock million years ago. Its magical aesthetic is a result of the wind and water erosion.

Exploring the Derinkuyu was another highlight. The underground city was established in the 7th century B.C. It protected 20,000 people against invading forces. The 18-story complex consists of a winery, stables and churches. The only Christian cross is built geographically.

This World Heritage Site covers a range of spectacular views. An hour hike in Ihlara Valley was incredible. Walked amidst leafy nature, and discovered 200+ churches carved into the walls of the gorge. During the Byzantine period, it was a hidden place for Christian.

The last stop was the Pigeon Valley. Besides the pigeon houses and dovecotes, we enjoyed another panoramic view. The appealing evil-eye tree originated from Mesopotamia, it will appear in all forms of jewelry. The amulet is used as repelling evil spirits.

Our journey was incomplete without the surreal scene of hot air balloons. They reached the sky, integrated into the magical backdrop, one by one. Smooth valley walls. Cone-like structures. Like melting ice cream. Someone dressed up as a cowboy. Camera was ready.

To be embraced upon the basin, the cost was the taxi fee, plus waking up at three :)
