Wilanow Palace, Warsaw

Sharing is caring, even when it comes to ART. Our society emphasizes the significance of art, close to the meaning of life. Therefore, we should not leave a high status of art mysterious. On the initiative of the owners, Aleksandra Potocka and Stanisław Kostka Potocki, the museum at the Wilanów Palace is the oldest Polish museum of art.

Built in 1805, the art collections maintained public access by the owner’s descendants. The revitalisation began in 1954, making efforts to preserve the aesthetics in the time of the King Jan III and Baroque decorations. As a division of the National Museum, the Wilanów Palace opened in 1962. It became the Association of European Royal Residences in 2006.

From the King’s library, the Queen’s antechamber, to the apartments of Princess Marshal Lubomirska, one can enjoy the baroque architecture. Note that it was a gift of King Jan III to his French wife Mary. Stroll around the park adjoining the palace. The central part comprises an Italian garden, which extends down to the lake, so an Anglo-Chinese landscape park.

Muzeum Polskiej Wódki, Warsaw

Food and beverage can be one of the ART forms. The Polish “Wódka” referred to the alcohol based medicines and cosmetics derived from frozen wine. Back in the 8th century, the alchemist Geber captured alcoholic vapors from wine with the alembic still and produced perfumes. The Italian monasteries started to distill grape wines gradually.

The Polish produced home-made vodka with fruit and herbs to mask the alcohol taste, which remains a tradition. The secret recipe of a creamy Polish vodka stems from potato, when its King was gifted by the Austrian Emperorin the 19th century, instead of the usage of rye. The invention of the Moscow Mule cocktail led to a vodka revolution sweeping the USA.

Located in the premises of a 19th century vodka factory complex, Muzeum Polskiej Wódki is the first Polish Vodka museum. It unveils the secret of ART drop by drop via workshop. Foodies will never miss the local pierogi (dumplings), gołąbki (cabbage roll) and żurek (sour rye soup). Cherry wine is a perfect ending. Highly recommend the Hala Forum and the Hala Koszyki.
