Perm is one of the transport hubs in western Russia, a main gateway to Serbia. A 2-hour flight from Moscow. During WWII, the Soviet government moved its industry and cultural artifacts to this city for safety reasons. The city becomes a national cultural center, just after St. Petersburg and Moscow.



If you are not well prepared before visiting, the Green and Red Line is conducive to your trip. Built in 2010 and 2012, the green one guides you to over 40 sculptures and buildings, including the Opera and Ballet Theater; while the red one brings you to more than 20 points of places commemorating famous people.



During the 1km self-tour, you will encounter the iconic “Walking Bear'' in Lenin Street. Russia used to be a forested area, locals are familiar with bears through folktales and stories. As time went by, this powerful and good-natured creature became a symbol. Strolling along the Kama River is a perfect way to end the trip.



The Khokhlova is another highlight. The open-air museum showcases the ethnic uniqueness of Kama region. You can visit the cabin of the hunters, with various vehicles in the North; while the remarkable bell tower is located in the highest point of the South. How the onion-domed architectures in harmony with nature.



When you visit Perm, BEAR in mind the folktale “Masha and the Bear”. Masha got lost in the forest when hunting for mushrooms and berries, and was thus captured by the bear. Though she was forced to live with it, she trapped it to carry her back to her village in a basket of pies. Since 2009, this story has transformed into a globally popular animated series with these 2 characters.
