Rest is returning to the ease and effortless state within.

Living in this hustling and bustling city, how long haven’t you rested? “Twinkling Lullabies” in the 500-seat Theatre. A light installation by Artist Kingsley Ng and his creative team partnered with Videotage. Find a moment of tranquility within the urban landscape, as the acclaimed program premiered at Paris’s Centre Pompidou makes its Hong Kong debut this summer.

An empty stage awaits you in the theatre.

Make yourself comfortable there and reverse your gaze to the twinkling auditorium, where sparks of light play slumberous songs. In the chords are fond memories of grandmas and mothers, treasures retrieved from oblivion, collective insomnia, time and space travels by curious hearts, growing up without getting old... Dive deeper into the slumber and nestle your ears next to more pillows floating at the back of the stage. Gently, the protagonists sing their songs.

You and rest will take centre stage.

“The City Never Sleeps”. Observe the light projections that move in real time with trains passing outside the windows. A meditative audio-visual experience which features no performers but you and your mindfulness. Stroll around the “Calming Tea Corner”. Relax yourself with a cup of tea. If you pop up anything in terms of “Rest is…”,  jot it down on a paper and share with the public.

Just relax and enjoy.

P.S. “Lullabies” was one of the “Unbox EKCC” trial programs. The unveiling ceremony of EKCC kicked off in November 2025 and this performance venue will present 17 opening season programs till February 2026. As an operator, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department aims at catering for various types of performances and promoting integration of arts and technology.
