From a fishing village incorporated into China, a trading port under British colonial rule, to the international financial center. Marvel at the Victoria Harbor @Yau Tsim Mong to witness the development of Hong Kong. Either riding on a ferry along the Avenue of Stars, or taking a tram to the Peak @Central And Western feeds your camera with the best night view.

Tiny as it is, yet it owns 2 theme parks. Ocean Park @Southern is a treasured attraction. Either cable car or Ocean Express connect the Waterfront and the Summit. Visit the Giant Pandas and marine life. Go big or go home on thrilling rides. Soak in Old Hong Kong and splash into the Water World. It deserved a place in your itinerary.

Hong Kong Disneyland @Islands was a gift to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the California original one. Small yet accessible to the 7 lands. RC Racer and Hyperspace Mountain are for thrill seekers. I personally prefer the Paint the Night parade, where you can cast dazzling magic under the Castle of Magical Dreams.

The Ngong Ping Cable Car accesses you to the Big Buddha. Atop the Mount Muk Yue, it is the second largest outdoor bronze seated Buddha at south, yet facing north towards Beijing. Grants blessing and happiness to all. Wong Tai Sin Temple and Chi Lin Nunnery offer you a further religious vibe in the city center.

As a city of religious diversity, the local Muslim community grows around 220,000. Out of the 5 mosques, the Kowloon Masjid and Islamic Centre is the biggest. To show the religion transcends borders and races, the St. Mary’s Church @Wan Chai is structured in the classic basilica style but embellished with Chinese traditional motifs.

Compared to other metropolitan cities, green spaces in Hong Kong actually account for up to 40% of the territory. Dive into a sea of silver grass at Sunset Peak. Immerse in the sunset at Lantau Peak. Time your visit to catch up with the Bun Festival in Cheung Chau. Scare evil away and worship the Taoist God of Sea.

Hong Kong is known as a shopping paradise and food paradise. From street snacks to exquisite cuisine, the wide-ranging food surely satisfies your appetite. Try milk tea and egg tarts in cha chaan teng, a local style cafe. As a Pearl of Oriental, I wonder what this vibrant city will look like after ten years.
